We brought a cohort of our 2025 Emerging Talent Global Graduates together from London to Hong Kong, and New York to Singapore for a dynamic, two-week in-person event. The popular ritual of pineapple rolling to wish good fortune for a new home kickstarted the celebrations as we opened our first health and wellness centre in Singapore. Exclusively for HSBC customers, it will deliver medical underwriting services as part of an integrated wealth and protection proposition within our Star Vista wealth centre. It’s just one of the many ways we’re aiming to deliver experiences beyond traditional banking.

I was delighted to share that HSBC had a strong first half as we presented our financial results to the market this morning. Our second quarter numbers show discipline, performance and delivery across the bank. With profit before tax up 5% and an annualised return on tangible equity of 18.2% in the first half (both excluding notable items), the benefits of our organisational simplification and investment in our priority growth areas are becoming evident. This morning we opened the market at the London Stock Exchange – the event wasn’t just an opportunity to honour our proud history, it was also a chance to celebrate our future ambitions for the bank, and more importantly, for our customers.
