We are beyond thrilled to announce the appointment of Ts. Syed Saggaf Syed Ahmad as the EIC’s new Regional Director for Asia Pacific (APAC). ? Syed succeeds Azman Nazir, who has left the EIC after eleven years of distinguished service. ? We would like to thank Azman for his great contributions to the development of the EIC in the APAC region and playing an instrumental role in many global EIC decisions. ? Commenting on the appointment, Stuart Broadley, CEO of the EIC, said: "Syed Saggaf's deep regional expertise, proven leadership, and extensive network are exceptional assets for our members and the EIC. We are delighted to have him lead our APAC operation. The appointment of a leader with his calibre and experience is a testament to our commitment to the APAC region's thriving energy supply chain." ? Stuart added: "I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Azman Nasir for his eleven years of outstanding service. Azman contributed massively to EIC's growth in APAC and provided invaluable global counsel." ? Following its launch, this year’s edition has already seen media pickups featured in publications across nearly 10 countries in Europe, Africa, and Asia. ?? What happens when 50,000 wind turbines reach the end of their operational life? According to EICAssetMap, by 2035, more than 50,000 onshore wind turbines globally will have reached the end of their lifespan — highlighting many repowering opportunities for the supply chain. More than 50% of these (26,084) are based in the USA, and 20 countries are expected to have at least 500 turbines, each ready for repowering. By 2035, 55 countries will have repowering opportunities on onshore wind farms. ?? Looking for more detailed project data?
